BJCC - Legacy Arena
In the heart of thriving, fun-filled Birmingham is the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex (BJCC). 220,000 square feet of exhibit space is just the beginning. One of the most compelling features of the BJCC is that it has all the right components – in one complex.
The BJCC will host many events for The World Games 2022 across its four venues: Bowling, DanceSport, Floorball, Gymnastics, Korfball and Powerlifting.
After a $125M renovation scheduled to finish by the end of 2021, Legacy Arena will be a top-notch facility of the Southeast. Home to several Gymnastics and DanceSport competitions, it will be a pinnacle place for The World Games 2022.
Sloss Furnaces is a staple in the history of Birmingham, Alabama. Originally operated as a pig iron-producing blast furnace from 1882 to 1971, Sloss Furnaces became one of the first industrial sites (and the only blast furnace) in the U.S. to be preserved and restored for public use. In 1981, the furnaces were designated a National Historic Landmark by the United States Department of the Interior.
With its existing infrastructure mixed with temporarily constructed structures, Sloss Furnaces will host multiple highly-anticipated sports for The World Games 2022, one of them being Parkour.
